Amazon Seller Fake Review Attacks: How to Fight Back

Competitor sabotage on Amazon is real. Here's how sellers remove fake one-star reviews and protect their listings.

By Review Remover Editorial Team

Amazon's marketplace is brutally competitive, and some sellers resort to fake one-star attacks, review hijacking, and upvoting negative reviews to damage competitors. These tactics violate Amazon's policies and FTC rules.

The first step is identifying the violation. Review the reviewer's purchase history, language patterns, and timing. Sudden clusters of one-star reviews on a successful ASIN are a red flag.

File a case with Amazon Seller Support or Brand Registry. Provide ASINs, review IDs, and evidence of coordinated behavior. Amazon is increasingly responsive to well-documented competitor attack reports.

If Amazon won't act and the reviewer is identifiable, a cease and desist letter or litigation may be necessary. Document everything from day one.
