Google publishes 11 categories of prohibited and restricted content for reviews. Knowing them cold is the foundation of any successful dispute.

1. Fake engagement — reviews from people who weren't actual customers.

2. Conflict of interest — reviews from competitors, former employees with an axe to grind, or anyone with an undisclosed stake.

3. Off-topic — political rants, personal grievances unrelated to the business experience.
