Gym & Fitness Center Reputation Management: Google, Yelp & ClassPass

Fitness businesses face polarized reviews. Here's how gyms and studios can remove fake negatives and highlight member success.

Gym reviews are polarized by nature — members love it or hate it. But fake reviews from non-members, ex-employees, and competitors can distort the true picture.

Google Business Profile and Yelp dominate local gym search. ClassPass, Mindbody, and Gympass reviews also matter for studios that rely on aggregator traffic.

Removable review categories: reviews from people who never had a membership (verify via CRM), ex-employee retaliation, reviews about personal training sessions the reviewer never purchased, and threatening content.

Cancellation complaints are the most common legitimate negative for gyms. These are almost never removable — the reviewer was a real member with a real grievance. Focus on professional responses instead.

Build a review-generation workflow: send a request 7 days after a member hits a milestone (30-day check-in, first personal training session, class attendance goal).
