Tripadvisor's Review Policies, Explained for Hotels and Restaurants
Tripadvisor's posting guidelines are detailed — and that's good news for hoteliers facing unfair reviews.
By Review Remover Editorial Team
Tripadvisor's published posting guidelines are some of the most detailed in the industry, which paradoxically makes successful disputes more achievable than on Yelp.
Common removable categories: second-hand information ('my friend stayed here…'), reviews mixing up properties, blackmail attempts (reviewers threatening a bad review unless comped), and reviews from people who never actually stayed.
The Management Response feature should be used in parallel with any removal request. A professional, factual response is read by future guests even if removal fails.
