Personal Injury Attorney Reputation Management: Avvo, Google & Yelp
PI attorneys walk a tightrope between defending their reputation and preserving client confidentiality.
By Review Remover Editorial Team
Personal injury law is emotional by definition. Clients may be disappointed with settlements, opposing parties may retaliate, and competitors may plant reviews. Attorneys must respond without violating Model Rule 1.6 confidentiality.
The safest path is usually removal rather than response. Non-client reviews, reviews from opposing parties, and reviews disclosing confidential case details are all strong removal candidates on Avvo and Google.
When response is necessary, keep it generic: 'We take all feedback seriously and invite you to contact our office directly.' Never confirm representation, never discuss case facts, and never argue outcomes.
Work with your malpractice carrier to approve any response policy. Some carriers offer specific guidance or even sample language for online review responses.
